The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) published a “free for all” agenda item for their 04/21/22 meeting. Agenda items are supposed to be detailed and specific in part to allow the public to have advance notification of the topics. We can then decide if we wish to attend the meeting or send in comments or both. Further, the rules for how to write an agenda are being ignored.
We brought this non-compliant agenda to the attention of our City Leaders and a revision was sent out. While it did contain a few specific items the second time, it also contained another problematic attempt at an open agenda with the phrase “including, but not limited to” — this is alarming.
We followed up to ask City Leaders if the phrase “including, but not limited to” was indeed standard for agenda items and whether or not it complied with State Law. We await a response.
Furthermore, we are concerned that this discussion item was allowed to be classified as an action item. What action is being taken if only discussion is listed as the agenda item? There are many problems here.
