Remember June 23, 2021? Loads of residents came out to the Joint Planning Commission and City Council meeting to discuss their thoughts on R-1 single family zoning. It was a seven hour meeting. You can relive it by clicking here.
More residents spoke that night about saving R-1 single family homes than those who spoke for changing the R-1 zone.
One week later, Ashley Hefner Hoang, the Culver City Advance Planning Manager, wrote the email below to the University of California Prytaneum Team and the Raimi consulting firm. The email is about using the software program, Prytaneum, to control public meetings. Ms. Hoang wrote that “I think it’s even more of a reason to go through the exercise proposed considering the tenor of how the recent meetings went. . . “
This is a wildly inappropriate comment and direction from City Staff, as it shows Ms. Hoang’s personal political agenda against the will of the people. We should all be alarmed by this, no matter which side of the R-1 debate you sit — and residents need to continue to speak up and speak out.
Around October 2021, Ms. Ashley Hefner Hoang resigned from her position in the City.
